The SAMMY system makes use of a phenomenon known as Magnetic-field Varying Internal-defect Blocked-spin Electrical Sensing (MagVIBES) to enable Electrical Quantum Magnetometry (EQM). 

Under the hood is an electrical system in which efficiency is governed by quantum coherence and a magnetic field is used to manipulate and assess that efficiency.
